Liverpool’s Six-Man Shortlist to Replace Salah Includes USMNT’s Pulisic – Transfer Frenzy

Liverpool have drawn up a six-man shortlist to replace the departing Mohamed Salah, and AC Milan’s Christian Pulisic is among the top targets, according to TEAMtalk. The 27-year-old USMNT star, who previously shone at Chelsea, has caught the eye of Anfield scouts after Milan missed out on Champions League qualification for a second straight year. But Pulisic faces stiff competition: PSG’s Bradley Barcola, Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh, Cologne’s Said El Mala, Hoffenheim’s Bazoumana Traore, and Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo are also on the list.

Arsenal are ramping up their pursuit of PSG winger Bradley Barcola this summer, reports the BBC. The 23-year-old France international is seen as an alternative to Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, after the Gunners balked at a £130 million price tag. However, PSG—despite potentially signing RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande for €100 million—are determined to keep Barcola and would only entertain offers above €130 million. Meanwhile, Arsenal are also eyeing a free transfer for former Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier as Kepa Arrizabalaga nears an exit.

Paris Saint-Germain are accelerating their interest in Bournemouth striker Junior Kroupi this summer, per TEAMtalk. The 20-year-old, who impressed in his debut Premier League season, tops PSG’s shortlist as they seek to replace Gonçalo Ramos (moved to AC Milan for a club-record €74 million) and outgoing Randal Kolo Muani (off to Juventus on loan with a €40 million obligation). Bournemouth are demanding around €100 million for Kroupi, with Arsenal also linked.

Manchester United have held talks with Marcus Rashford’s camp about staying at the club this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano. United are open to welcoming the England forward back for pre-season despite doubts over his future. Rashford spent last season on loan at Barcelona, where he impressed, but the LaLiga club declined to trigger his €30 million permanent transfer clause.

Inter Milan are intensifying their interest in Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, says Gazzetta dello Sport. Inter are strongly considering a move for the England international and will battle Como for his signature, after seeing a €27 million bid rejected. Chelsea are holding out for around €35 million.

Tottenham have agreed a club-record £85 million deal with West Ham for midfielder Mateus Fernandes. ESPN reported last week that Spurs were ready to rival Manchester United for the 21-year-old, with sources suggesting they offered a higher overall package to win the race.

Everton are set to complete the signing of Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney for around £25 million. The 24-year-old is one of the Championship’s most admired players and helped Middlesbrough to the playoff final, where they lost to Hull City.

Chelsea have signed 21-year-old right back Marco Palestra from Atalanta on a seven-year deal through 2033, with the fee up to £47 million including add-ons.

Liverpool have secured France U21 center back Jérémy Jacquet from Rennes in a deal worth up to £60 million. The 20-year-old agreed terms in January and has now signed a five-year contract at Anfield, subject to international clearance.
