Bayern Munich have pulled off a major coup, signing left-back Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt on a five-year deal. The 23-year-old German international put pen to paper on a contract that keeps him at the Allianz Arena until June 2031, the club announced on Tuesday.
Brown, a full Germany international with eight caps, broke through at Nürnberg before moving to Frankfurt in 2024. He made 75 appearances for Die Adler, scoring seven goals and providing 13 assists. His standout performances earned him a spot in Germany’s World Cup squad, where he featured in three matches and scored in a 7-1 demolition of Curaçao.
For Brown, this move is personal. “Bayern is one of the best clubs in the world. It means so much to me to have the chance to play for this club, and it fills me with pride,” he told the club’s website. “I also come from Bavaria, which makes it even more special. I’ve always dreamed of playing for the biggest titles at the highest level. I set myself the highest goals and want to get the maximum out of me every day.”
The defender revealed that talks with the club’s management were decisive. “I quickly had a great feeling in talks with the management. Vincent Kompany in particular showed me how he sees me and my development and absolutely convinced me.”
Bayern’s sporting director Christoph Freund is equally thrilled. “Nathaniel Brown can be used in different positions and has so much speed out wide. He’s already developed into a top player at the age of 23 and will continue to improve. We’re excited about Nathaniel, who will continue to grow here at Bayern.”
Last season, Bayern reclaimed the Bundesliga title and reached the Champions League semifinals. With Brown’s arrival, the Bavarians aim to dominate Europe once again. Meanwhile, the coaching carousel continues: Julian Nagelsmann is out as Germany boss, with Jürgen Klopp reportedly lined up as his replacement. Germany’s chancellor even faced ridicule for praising the team’s ‘spirit’ after their World Cup exit.
For now, all eyes are on Brown as he embarks on the next chapter of his career. Bayern fans have every reason to be excited.
